Grades 1–5 Academic Curriculum
The Elementary School at Iqra Nejashi Islamic School provides a strong academic foundation that prepares students for continued success in middle school and beyond. The curriculum combines Ontario-aligned academic learning with Islamic education, character development, leadership, and community responsibility.
Students in Grades 1–5 are encouraged to develop strong foundational skills in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, communication, and critical thinking. Through age-appropriate instruction and hands-on learning, students gradually develop independence, confidence, creativity, and a love of learning.
English Language Arts
Students develop strong reading, writing, oral communication, and media-literacy skills. The program emphasizes:

Grade 5 Preparation

By the completion of Grade 5, students should have a solid foundation in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, Islamic Studies, Arabic, technology, and personal development. They should be prepared to enter Grades 6–8 with confidence, strong academic habits, Islamic character, and a positive attitude toward lifelong learning.
Curriculum Goal
The overall goal of Grades 1–5 at Iqra Nejashi Islamic School is to develop well-rounded, knowledgeable, confident, and responsible students who combine strong academic foundations with Islamic values, good character, critical thinking, and a commitment to serving their families and communities.
